Their striking rise thanks to the many international agreements they have signed recently, which frees them from the visa-seeking process in countries like Russia, Liberia, Mexico or Sierra Leone.

Japan and Singapore no longer have the most powerful passport in the world. According to the Passport Index website, a United Arab Emirates passport was found at the top of the box. With this passport you can enter without any problems and visas in as many as 167 countries, or you have access to 84 percent of the world.

The Passport Index, owned by Arton Capitale, lays passports for 193 countries and six regions that are members of the United Nations. At the top of the ladder are passports of countries with which you can enter other countries without visas and special requirements.

The United Arab Emirates climbed to the top of the chart in a record time. For the first time, they were listed on the list in December 2016 (27th place) and in number two they came in two years.

Their striking rise thanks to the many international agreements they have signed recently, which release them from the visa-seeking process in countries like Russia, Liberia, Mexico or Sierra Leone.

In the top 10 countries, there are Singapore, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, France, Italy and the Netherlands, with passports of 165 and 166 countries worldwide. Croatia is on the 41rd place ladder and you can enter it with 156 passports in 156 countries worldwide.

The full list of the most powerful passports on the world can be found on The Passport Index.

Oh an UAE citizen is surely lucky then. I am an Indian passport holder and I have to apply visa for so many countries. Visa processing has always been a barrier to smooth travel. I wish it can be eased one day.
